Static Load Testing
Used method for testing is defined in EN215. Vertical compressive force was applied to the top of the thermostat using calibrated weight blocks and a 2 cm wide flat rope. Load was increased until damage occurred.
While the original plastic backplate showed signs of failure at low impact levels with impact weights of 1.5kg, the Rugged Backplate demonstrated significantly improved performance, withstanding up to 11.5kg before minor cracks and complete failure at 14.5kg

The standard plastic backplate failed at 46 kg with breakage at the moulded lock teeth.
