Challenges

Committed to the wider OTP sustainability agenda and reducing of the CO2 footprint, DSK Bank’s legacy office building in Sofia posed a significant challenge. The selected office has convectors and A/Cs in the open spaces, offices, corridors, kitchens, meeting room, etc. There were no integrated individual controllers, no detection of inefficiencies such heating empty rooms and left open windows overnight. The lack of any automation and consumption data left the DSK Bank management with high energy bills, energy waste, and compromised employee’s comfort.

Solution

DSK Bank's goal to achieve a sustainable and eco-friendly office environment required an innovative smart solution that offers real-time data on consumption patterns and inefficiencies, as well as individual control and automation. In response MClimate's IoT integrated solution provided the perfect answer, with 110 custom made thermostats, 145 open/close sensors, 65 humidity and temperature sensors, monitored and controled by the MClimate unique IoT platform to cover the whole office building. With the system in place installed in just 4 days occupants can now control the temperature remotely, set hourly, daily and weekly schedules based on the working dynamics while also monitor in real time open windows when ventilating and detecting open doors. The new IoT set up resulted in c.30% energy savings and c.20% CO2 reductions, elevating the building's certification and energy efficiency parameters. With MClimate's custom integrated IoT solution, DSK Bank is closer to achieving their sustainability goals, reducing drastically heating costs and improving the well-being of their occupants, all while promoting their brand as an eco-friendly and forward-thinking organization.
