About eBag

eBag is a leading online retailer in Bulgaria, founded in 2015, providing its customers with access to a vast portfolio of products in one place, while maintaining a leading position with an 80% market share in the online FMCG sector. The company offers fast home delivery of high-quality products in several Bulgarian cities and their nearby areas. eBag is committed to innovation, high customer satisfaction, and teamwork. They strive for technological advancement by integrating innovative solutions to optimize processes and improve efficiency.

Challenges

eBag’s main fulfillment center stores perishable goods that require constant monitoring of storage conditions. Maintaining consistent temperature and humidity across multiple zones with different storage requirements, such as refrigerated, frozen, and ambient areas, posed a significant operational challenge for eBag. Ensuring continuous monitoring across two warehouse floors and during transport adds complexity, especially when goods move between refrigerated and non-refrigerated environments. Limited visibility into real-time conditions in vehicles and storage rooms increases the risk of spoilage, compliance issues, and product loss.

Solution

To address these challenges, in January 2026, eBag partnered with MClimate and deployed a comprehensive monitoring system using 70 MClimate HT Sensors LoRaWAN® across the fulfillment center, enabling real-time tracking of the rooms’ temperature and humidity, and collecting historical data. The system covers all the site’s critical zones – the main warehouse, dedicated spaces for refrigerated and frozen goods, two separate rooms for fruits and vegetables, each with different temperatures, and purpose-built packaging areas for goods stored at ambient, refrigerated, or frozen conditions. To ensure the successful deployment of the solution, 4 gateways enabled protocol conversion, facilitating communication and allowing the 70 MClimate HT Sensors LoRaWAN® to be seamlessly integrated into the MClimate Enterprise IoT Platform. This smart solution now allows eBag’s team to continuously monitor temperature and humidity, providing them with real-time visibility and centralized control over conditions across the entire fulfillment center.

The solution extends beyond the warehouse, with additional devices installed in delivery vehicles communicating through 2 gateways directly installed in the vehicles. By monitoring both refrigerated compartments and standard cargo areas, the system ensures that storage conditions are maintained throughout the entire distribution cycle.

Data from all locations is aggregated into a single interface, enabling efficient oversight and easier compliance with storage standards. As a result, the company benefits from improved product quality control, reduced risk of spoilage, enhanced operational efficiency, and greater transparency across both storage and transportation processes. The LoRaWAN® protocol ensures these smart devices’ operating life is up to 10 years while consuming as little energy as possible, making the solution sustainable over time.

MClimate HT Sensor LoRaWAN®

The MClimate HT sensor is a LoRaWAN® Class A End-device with a battery life of up to 10 years, the longest available on the market. Equipped with built-in temperature and humidity sensors, it enables real-time tracking of the indoor environment and collects historical data for seamless sustainability reporting. Measuring 80 x 80 x 19mm and weighing just 60 grams, the HT sensor is small, discreet, and easy to mount. Installation is straightforward, with a few simple steps, a status button, and an LED light indicator for easy setup and connection.

Recommended products

Vicki LoRaWAN® Smart Radiator Thermostat

Vicki LoRaWAN is a radiator thermostatic valve fully compliant with the LoRaWAN standard. It is the perfect choice for large-scale projects as it offers amazing battery life, RF performance and no maintenance for years as well functionalities such as Child Lock, Detection of opened windows and much more.

MClimate HT + PIR lite LoRaWAN®

MClimate HT + PIR lite LoRaWAN® is a device that combines a PIR sensor with temperature and humidity sensors to ensure space indoor climate optimisation and demand-based ventilation. Powered by two AA batteries, the device can operate for up to 15 years under default configuration mode. The data from the HT + PIR can be integrated into any LoRaWAN®-compatible system, including Building Management Systems, and exposed as datapoints in Modbus, BACnet, and KNX systems through a dedicated gateway. The HT + PIR lite operates in LoRaWAN Class A, and like all other MClimate devices, supports FUOTA (Firmware Upgrades Over The Air).
