About Millennium

Millennium Complex brings together more than 1,600 workplaces, a conference center with an auditorium for 500 people, 3 restaurants, a caterer, a delicatessen, a fitness center with wellness, a nursery, an art gallery, an event service, a dry cleaner, a hair and beauty salon, a concierge service, a 500-space car park with a vehicle wash center. All the comfort in one place!

The culinary offerings, led by Chef Fabien Foare, a Meilleur Ouvrier de France, include a brasserie rated 15 points by Gault & Millau, a gourmet grocery store, a wine cellar, and catering services. A gallery and a bookstore enhance the cultural dimension of the venue. Millennium also offers an original public program featuring a world-class musical lineup.

Challenges

Millennium is a unique business complex combining a high-end business center with a venue for professional and cultural conferences and events. With a total surface area of over 50,000 m² across 12 levels, Millennium stands out with a unified IT network that enables centralized and optimized management of all installations including the LoRaWAN system. Having experienced flood damage in the past, our client was determined to prevent future incidents and protect their building. They sought a solution with 24/7 monitoring to detect floods immediately, minimizing the risk of costly and time-consuming renovations.

Solution

Recognized for its advanced technological infrastructure, Millennium proactively sought a best-in-class, easy-to-implement yet powerful solution to mitigate flood risks. In the beginning of 2023, the management decided to install 1500 MClimate Flood Sensor LoRaWAN® across the whole 50,000 m² space to enable comprehensive building monitoring through flood alerting and timely notifications. The devices feature a 3-pin flood sensor positioned at the bottom of each unit which promptly sends notifications if water makes contact with all three pins, signaling a flood event within seconds. With a built-in buzzer alarm and push notifications, the MClimate Flood Sensors provided Millennium with real-time alerts, ensuring the right personnel were notified through multiple communication channels (email, SMS, push notifications) for a fast response. Designed for multiple uses, the devices feature a rubber seal that prevents water from entering the plastic casing, allowing them to float when submerged and maintain full functionality. The MClimate Flood Sensor also includes an anti-tamper button, which enables Millennium to detect any interference by sending an instant uplink notification. This ensures their investment is safe against potential threats. Leveraging LoRaWAN technology, the Flood sensors offer highly energy-efficient battery consumption, with a lifespan of up to 10 years, depending on the selected settings.

The MClimate Flood solution enabled Millennium management to anticipate needs, reduce risks, and optimize efficiency.
