Melissa Smart A/C Controller Works With Amazon Alexa

Alexa is a voice control platform which is available on the Amazon devices Echo, Dot, and Tap. The integration of Melissa with Alexa enables you to use voice commands for controlling your air conditioner. After syncing your Melissa with Alexa you can now ask her to assist you with:

"Turn Melissa on."
"Turn Melissa off."
"Set the Melissa to 20 (or X amount) degrees."
"Increase Melissa by 2 (or X amount) degrees."
"Decrease Melissa by 4 (or X amount) degrees."

Now, you can set up your Melissa with your Google Home. Once configured, you would be able to send voice commands to control your air conditioner. Make sure that each Melissa which you have at your home has a personal name in order to be recognized by Google Home as a specific device. As an example, the Melissa which is located in your living room, could be simply named as "living room" and the following commands could be applied:

"Ok Google, turn the living room A/C on."
"Ok Google, set living room A/C to cooling."
"Ok Google, set living room A/C to 25 degrees."

Spring is coming and it is time to prepare for the upcoming summer season. Don’t forget your AC during the spring cleaning time and make sure it will work efficiently in the next months. Check our tips on how to prepare your AC for spring.

Check the outer body of your AC

Leaves or other objects stuck in the outer body of your AC may lower its efficiency and cause even bigger problems. Nobody wants to be left without an AC during the hottest days of the year, so make sure you remove all the outer objects from your AC. If you are afraid you could harm the outer body, better call a technician to do it for you.

Clean your AC filters

Your AC won’t work efficiently if its filters are covered in dust. This may also transform to molds and not only start smelling bad but become dangerous for your health. Clean your filters regularly to avoid such problems. If you are not sure how to do it, check “How to clean your AC filter”.

Call a technician for a check

Don’t forget to call a technician to check your whole system at least once or twice a year. He will clean it and make sure everything works fine and there are no leaks.
